8.3. IMPORTANCE OF PLANTS IN THE BIOSPHERE
Plants are very important because:
- They are the principal producers of the O2 we breath.
- They help to regulate the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere because they absorb CO2 during the process of photosynthesis.
- Their roots prevent soil erosion.
- Plants are a fundamental part of the food chains in ecosystems.
